Training opportunities for visually impaired people.

Eye Wish Access trains visually impaired people through our One Awards Train the Trainers course to become accredited trainers. This will prepare you to join us in delivering our vision awareness programmes.

Becoming an Eye Wish trainer provides opportunities to:

  • develop and share skills
  • gain a nationally recognised accreditation
  • increase confidence
  • meet people
  • break down barriers to access and inclusion for visually impaired people.

All our tutors are visually impaired themselves so understand how to deliver training for visually impaired people.

The Train the Trainers course is delivered up to Level 3.

Feedback from trainees:

The tutors delivery was complemented by their knowledge and I found them very approachable and willing to share their knowledge when myself or the whole group needed direction or exemplification.

I thoroughly enjoyed co-facilitating and was engaging with the students on an intellectual level and at ease with the tutors which made the overall assessment feel more like a friendly group discussion. I particularly enjoyed having the support of the assessors and felt more at ease in their presence. It was also an invaluable experience to be able to facilitate the activity with the students.

Eye Wish staff were very thorough in the briefing they gave us and I felt 100% supported throughout the whole process of learning, homework tasks and facilitating! Given the chance, I will definitely help facilitate in the future!

I found the practical session very useful, though provoking and a good way of integrating all the members of the group.  Both courses this year have been delivered well and I would recommend these courses to other visually impaired people in the future.
